5G – technology is very difficult and is absolutely not true, as 3G or LTE, being in fact divided into two parts. This imposes certain limitations on operators and manufacturers of compatible smartphones that are forced to assimilate two, independent from each other standard. As a result, some vendors, such as Apple, for example, still are unable to produce their own iPhone-enabled networks of the fifth generation. The reason was the complexity in the development of high standard which provides the highest throughput, and therefore it was decided to do it gradually.
The network of the fifth generation consists of two standards: NSA (non-standalone) and SA (standalone) that operate at frequencies less than and greater than 6 GHz, respectively. The work of the first standard, in fact, provide the same power as the work of LTE, so it works with the same frequencies, which adversely affects its speed. The second standard, also known as the "real" 5G, operates in the mmWave frequencies (6 GHz) and potentially capable of speeds above 1 Gbit/s. However, because of the short-wave such a standard requires a large number of nearby towers, which many operators is not trivial.
When will the iPhone 5G
iPhone 12, which will be released in September 2020, will have limited support 5G, working only with long-wave standard, while running the model, working at mmWave frequencies, roughly to be held in January 2021, announced analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. According to him, Apple fails to release a smartphone with a “real” 5G, which could simultaneously work in two standards at once. Therefore, in Cupertino have decided that the first release iPhone with support for 5G NSA, in order not to lose market share and then bring in the sale a more sophisticated device.
