It is not a secret that the first iPhone and iPad with support for fifth generation networks will be on the market in 2020. To ensure your smartphones and tablets the best modems 5G, Apple entered into a settlement agreement with Qualcomm and abandoned developments Intel. But that’s not all – yesterday it became known that the company intended to add support for networks of the fifth generation in the Apple Watch. At least, this States a new patent application to the Corporation.

Apple Watch with 5G

In the patent application of August 23, we are talking about the Apple Watch the new generation. According to the description, the smart watch will be able to transfer data to other devices via “communication protocols IEEE 802.11 ad or protocols of wireless communication systems 5 th generation (5G)”. The antenna is proposed to be located in the side walls or screen — like arrangement allows to direct the signal point, bypassing the wrist of the user.

Of course, any release dates like the Apple Watch are not yet known until the development is described on paper. But you can almost with 100% certainty to say that the support networks of the fifth generation of smartwatches, Apple is only a matter of time.

Support networks of the fifth generation of the Apple Watch with eSIM

Unfortunately, the implementation of both technologies in Russia is under big question.

In most countries of the world to work 5G allocated frequency band 3,4-3,8 GHz with the possibility to extend the range for wireless transmission of content. At the moment this range is used by the Ministry of defence of the Russian Federation and “Roscosmos”. In theory, it would be possible to use a frequency in the range from 4.4 to 4.99 GHz. However, in this case Russia will choose “custom scenario” of 5G technology, which the equipment is to cost the country considerably more expensive.

Deployment of communication systems of the fifth generation do require large investments in network infrastructure. Yet the necessary conditions have been created in only a few countries, however, new generation networks already being tested in Indonesia, India, Canada, Turkey, Philippines, Vietnam, Germany, Spain and many other countries.

As for the eSIM, the situation is also not the best way — by the legislation of the Russian Federation has not yet developed regulations governing the operation of virtual SIM cards. And the infrastructure of the “big three” operators are clearly not ready for widespread implementation eSIM.
