Chip Apple T2 successfully used in Apple computers for a couple of years. For the first time this coprocessor has appeared in the iMac Pro, and then the same chips were equipped with the latest MacBook Pro, MacBook Air and Mac Mini. Ordinary users may not notice much difference, but it is – in some moments. For example, the new Mac has changed the procedure for SMC reset. What actions now need to be taken? Today will tell.

The system management controller (SMC) is responsible for the majority of low-level functions on Mac computers — working lights, and a variety of sensors, power management, CPU and many more.

If you are a Mac there are some problems in the first place, it is recommended to reset the SMC. In most cases, it helps to fix all problems with your computer (if the problem is not hardware in nature).

Procedure resetting the system management controller is slightly different on computers running Apple chip T2.
