Comparison: iPhone XS Max vs Huawei Mate 20 Pro

In September of this year, Huawei unveiled to the public its brand processor HiSilicon Kirin 980. This chip is built on a 7-nanometer process and was announced by the Chinese vendor as the fastest and most powerful on the market. But is it really? Host of the YouTube channel PhoneBuff decided to verify this himself and conducted a series of tests on speed in real usage scenarios.

In comparison, PhoneBuff involved the actual flagship from the world of Apple and Samsung: iPhone XS Max and 20 Mate Pro. Testing was conducted as follows: first, from the memory of the smartphone was uploaded to all programs, and then on each device in turn, run a prepared application. The time of passage of each “circle” was recorded by the timer. For maximum purity of the experiment were used robotic mechanism, which eliminates the human factor and minimizes possible errors. Let’s find out what happened.

Despite statements by Chinese manufacturer, Apple still was faster through the first “round” for 1 minute and 47 seconds. 20 Pro Mate coped with this task in 1 minute and 52 seconds. Despite the obvious advantage of 8 GB of RAM, the flagship Huawei failed the test of multitasking, multiple apps unloaded from memory. To the iPhone XS Max not had any issues — all running processes is kept in the background. The final result of the second “run”: Mate 20 Pro — 48 seconds smartphone Apple came to the finish line in 35 seconds.

Needless to say that the victory in this comparison, won iPhone XS Max. Alas, the smartphone Huawei did not help any additional processor cores or more impressive RAM. The less one should give credit — Mate Pro 20 have shown themselves worthy.
