Consumers prefer MacBook Air Retina new MacBook Pro

In the third quarter of 2018 sales of Mac computers fell by almost 25% compared to the same period last year, displacing Apple from fourth to fifth place in the overall standings. This follows from the report by the consulting firm TrendForce. Analysts estimate that the drop in sales of Mac computers has occurred on the background of a General market upswing, when the demand decisions of competing producers experienced growth.

The decline in the share of Apple in the PC market looks unnatural, especially given the company taken steps to prevent such an outcome. One of them was the release of the updated line of MacBook Pro. New generation of models equipped with high-performance Intel eighth-generation displays that support True Tone keyboard “butterfly” of the third generation and up to 32GB of RAM inclusive.

Why falling Mac sales

Analysts attribute the drop in Mac sales that the majority of consumers were waiting for the presentation of the updated Mac Mini and MacBook Air with Retina display, hoping to low prices, and therefore in no hurry to buy models of previous generations. But, unfortunately, in Cupertino was unable to keep the cost of new products at the same level, which is logical, given the abundance of new technologies that extend their functionality.

However, the release of the new MacBook Air should definitely boost Mac sales, largely due to a balanced combination of price and characteristics, risking even to Eclipse a 12-inch MacBook. The past with all its compactness and convenience still plays the new MacBook Air as from the point of view of computing power, which for many may be the deciding factor, and from the point of view of security provided by the chip T2, and Touch ID.
