Apple finally turned the sale of routers line AirPort, includes a model AirPort Express, AirPort Extreme, and AirPort Time Capsule. It follows from the official online store of the company. Now the only way to purchase a device of this type to consumers from around the world remains an appeal to retail partners Apple, and also the repaired section of equipment on site apple.com available in some countries.
The AirPort product line includes three devices: available AirPort Express and the more expensive AirPort Extreme, and AirPort Time Capsule.
AirPort Express is a tiny router with the appearance of Apple TV, with support for 802.11 n and ranges 2,4 and 5 GHz.
AirPort Extreme is twice as expensive as the AirPort Express, but functional. Thanks to high-performance antenna AirPort Extreme works with 802.11 ac, providing almost three times more speed than the classic router.
Time Capsule has exactly the same features as the AirPort Extreme, but also has a built-in hard disk 2/3, which can be used to backup files from your Mac to always have them at hand.
Line AirPort has not received upgrades since 2012, being one of the most rarely updated model series Apple. Since then, the company continued their production, but did not make their hardware any significant changes. However, this did not prevent Apple to release AirPort for software updates that improve their functionality. One of the most important updates Apple branded routers received this year, having acquired the support of technology 2 AirPlay and HomeKit.
